This blog is about a philosophy. The philosophy is called Awareness 2.0

What is a philosophy? It’s the way you think. Your knowledge, your mind that directs your thoughts, your experience, and your perspective on the way reality works. It is built around ideas within psychology, philosophy, entrepreneurship and based on how we generally think and make our decisions in everyday life.

Here is a quick overview of the main areas of interest that I touch upon in my exploration of Awareness.

  • The Mind. This is the hardware of your brain which executes your thoughts. It’s biological in nature and largely useless, unless you have the knowledge – the connections – which allow you to apply your brain towards building something of value. You build your physical world using your mind as the hardware and your knowledge as the software. Experience is what provides the raw building materials – the data.
  • Experience. This is the sequence of sensory impressions that is constantly being absorbed by your mind – this is the raw input being processed through your thoughts and beliefs. You are always absorbing new impressions from all your five senses. Experiences are like frames of a movie that makes impressions upon your nervous system and gives you more material to base your decisions upon.
  • Knowledge. This is the patterns that you see within the sequence of your experience – this is the software of your mind. Knowledge that is organized into a system is called a philosophy. Knowledge is composed mainly of the patterns that you form based on your experience. Look at experience as the raw data and knowledge as the identifiable patterns within that raw data. With knowledge, you can create your experience on demand because you know the cause and effect relationships between the causes of your experiences and the experiences themselves.

The way we understand our reality is by looking at our experience and identifying new patterns within that information that we can use as basis for predicting future events. This is what makes your mind tick, because these patterns are the building blocks of everything that you create.

Your knowledge is like a map over the terrain of ideas. The knowledge map tells you what directions and pathways you need to take in order to reach your goals. You can look at the map from afar to see the big picture and then you can zoom in to look at it a little closer in order to figure out how to solve smaller challenges of everyday life.

Welcome to my world.
